Makeup artist Lisa Eldridge has worked with everyone from Kate Winslet to Cindy Crawford. With an end goal to advance her new book, Face Paint: The Story of Makeup, she’s re-making the looks of a portion of the greatest cosmetics muses ever.

“I just love her because she was a real Hollywood movie star in the true sense of the words,” says Eldridge. “You never saw her shuffling around on a day off with no makeup, wearing the 1950s equivalent of Ugg boots and tracksuit bottoms. She was always bejeweled, decked out in her diamonds, emeralds, makeup, hair—glamorous and fabulous at all times.”

In the instructional exercise, Eldridge made Taylor’s “classic ’50s look” on blonde actress Laura Jean Marsh. The main components of Taylor’s iconic makeup were liner, brows, and lipstick. For eyeliner, Eldridge draws on a “little kitten flick” with__ Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner 24h in Black__. She begins by painting a thick line on the external corners of Marsh’s eyes, then interfaces it with a thin line in the internal corner. She covers the little cat flick with__Hourglass Calligraphy Liquid Eyeliner in Ebony__. For Taylor’s sensational foreheads, Eldridge utilized two Stila temples pencils and Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Ebony to draw them on, thick at the front and decreased toward the end. For Taylor-esque lips, Eldridge lines Laura’s with Revlon ColorStay Lipliner in Red and fills them in, leaving the center of her lips exposed for Urban Decay every minute of every day Lip Pencil in Bang, a brilliant orange-red. She finishes the liners with two red lipsticks for an additional punch. In the wake of including a cocoa wig, Taylor’s magnificence check, and heaps of gems and precious stones, Marsh looks so much like Elizabeth Taylor; we needed to do a double take.

Two fun facts you’ll learn in this tutorial: First, Eldridge was once asked that do Taylor’s cosmetics, yet the performing artist was wiped out and couldn’t make the arrangement. Second, Taylor was one of the uncommon individuals conceived with a twofold arrangement of eyelashes. On the off chance that lone we as a whole could be so lucky.
