Jackie keeps on raising the stakes. A month ago, we saw the first mystery trailer for the buzzy biopic and speedily lost our brains over Natalie Portman’s depiction of the first lady. The Pablo Larraín–directed film happens in the days after the death of John F. Kennedy and is confined around Jacqueline Kennedy’s meeting with a Life, magazine journalist. The new trailer sees Jackie Kennedy affixing her famous pink pillbox cap, and starts with that same scary voiceover, “People like to believe in fairytales, yet paints a more mind boggling, destroying the picture of the leading woman than we’ve ever observed some time recently.
